Jonathan Willis, 37, of North Bethesda, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the coercion and enticement of a 14-year-old online after he repeatedly shared unwanted pictures with the girl and attempting to persuade her to head across state lines for sexual activity.
According to court documents, in March last year, Willis began to communicate with the girl through Snapchat, offering to pay her cash for sexually explicit photos. He also sent her multiple inappropriate photos of himself masturbating and implored her to come to his Maryland home to “make love.”
The teen was one step ahead of Willis.
After she rebuffed his advances, the girl alerted the police, and an undercover officer took over the Snapchat account posing as her.
Prosecutors say that twice in May last year, Willis again sought sexually explicit photos, unknowingly, this time from the investigator, and attempted again to persuade her to come to Maryland with ill intentions.
Willis pleaded guilty in March.
In addition to his prison term, a judge ordered him to serve 10 years of supervised release and he will have to register as a sex offender for 25 years once he is out.
